Cheers guys.
Sal, not quite sure I get what you're trying to say?
Anyway, not been on here for a while! Nothing's changed on the car for ages, been far too busy with my degree to have the time to do much. Still got the exhaust to go on, won't be happening until after exams though, just in time for show season

Was fed up of doing work at the weekend so decided I'd get my Irmscher backbox fitted. Didn't quite go to plan though unfortunately.
Started off by giving it a quick polish.
Then went to remove the old exhaust clamp and it was rusted to shit. Got it off but then realised the real extent of the rust. The centre section and backbox had welded themselves together and the rust had gone straight through both; found out by putting a hole through them lol.
So I needed to get a new centre section before I could pop the new backbox on.
So, after a pleasant experience with Yodel for a change, I had a new centre section. Got it from eurocarparts outlet on eBay, £15.44 brand new delivered!
Took fooking ages to get the old centre section and backbox off. Ended up taking a grinder to the centre section to separate it from the backbox, using a makeshift shield between the grinder and fuel tank.
Then it required lots of brute force and plusgas to separate the centre section from the cat.
All done in the end after 2 and a half hours of two of us on it, but got the new centre section and Irmy backbox on
Just a quick before and after, will get better pics another time:

Cheers mate
It's been long overdue. It's the only exhaust I wanted though and they're bloody rare, so I had to wait a while. Looks great on the car though, if I may say so myself
Here's the state of the old exhaust. This is the join between the backbox and the centre section, completely fused together:
And after I grinded through them:
Had to remove the backbox on Saturday to properly clamp it up to the centre section, as I forgot to buy an extra clamp when I initially put it on. Was pouring with rain and I got soaked through rolling around on the floor, but got some paste and a new clamp on. Not sure if it's fully sealed though, hard to tell. Anyone got any tips for checking for a blow?
Another quick pic, don't think the car's been washed in over half a year:

Got the exhaust sorted. Sealed up better but was badly hitting on the rear beam so bodged a fix:
Got some poly bushes for the backbox and centre section to help raise the system up a bit to stop it hitting the rear beam and bouncing around so much.
Also fitted an early punto rear wiper to smarten up the rear slightly. Also fancied a change and put my old euro pressed plates back on:
Decided I prefer the standard plates so put them back on.
Also bought some new polybushes (again) for the backbox to help raise it some more.
Ones I have have at the moment have height options but it's either too high and the exhaust hits the bumper, or it's too low. New ones should be perfect. Planning on lowering the car more in early June so need to get as much clearance for the exhaust over the rear beam as possible.
Also putting standard rear lights on soon, I've gone off the tinted ones and prefer subtlety.

Looks good mate a good way to check if your exhaust has a blow is to cover up the tips with you had for a sec and if its not sealed you will hear it mate that's what we used to do when I was in the trade
