Wiring My Audio System Fuses was created by kno88y
Right let start from the beginning,
i have a 400w amp that powers a 900w sub so thats fine
ill be getting 4 x 450w 6x9's
and a 1200w amp
now for the technical bit "keep up im struggling"
ill be running a #4 gauge cable from the battery with a inline 150amp fuse to a "power block"(fused distribution block)
then inside the block ill have 100amp fuses as ill be running 2 x #8 gauge cable to the amps,
so if im correct that all this is positive and from what i have read i may need a capacitor to help the sub when my audio is in full swing
so in other words itll look like this
now going on Spences setup is my battery going to cope but i dont mind leaving my engine running if this is the case
looking around i think im gunna need a custom wiring kit aswell as the normal wiring kit that ill need to hook everything up

I just get my wiring from Halfords out of laziness! Usually the fusion packs as they have everything in them you need really
As for your setup whats the RMS etc, since a 400w amp on a 900w sub might not be enough really?

yer thinking that its something completely new to me so i was just about to delete my post lol gunna stick to the old plan just need some more cable as the 1200w cable pack dosent come with the right gauge cabling so will have to up the wiring kit to a 1800w kit for the 8 gauge cable

Sorry edited my post, the amp might not be enough I was meant to add! Depends if you looking at max power or the nominal stats etc.
Also you wont need a power cap for those figures I wouldnt think - its 1 farad to every 1,000w. So if you did have one anyway you know you wont have to go above 1f, keeping it cheap

yer im looking at a 1.2 farad by juice it not to pricy and will look nice and prove a purpose, unless i run the main power cable throught it as the hole setup is nearly 2000w with both amps, its little things i get confused on being as i dont know much about how it should all work together, im thinking the power cap for the sub as the 1200w amp will be rapping my battery and the sub when used heavly may cause a volt drop
** edit im running the 400 amp on the 900 sub now my EDGE setup **

sorry 300w RMS 900 Peak but amp wouldnt handle that
the bottem one 12"

Again this is all max power figures no doubt, so halve it and thats more like the power you'll be using

so im running a 800w setup and will only be needing the downrated power cable the #8 gauge from the battery and the #10 gauge and downrate the fuses but am i still gunna need the cap as i wont be uprating mt battery like spence has but he is running alot more
and would a 1200w amp run 4 lots of 450w 6x9's ok
ie 600w amp running 4 200w speakers
