Saw this last week on its premier night, was pretty shoddy to be honest - I had so much hype about this aswell 
Acting is LOL cheesey sometimes, aliens look cack (drones looked alright through tbf), characters are uber underwhelming, storyline only gets good in the last 20mins. Imagine channel 5 saw Skyline, then made their own with a big budget and some well known faces, then thats Battle: LA.
Its been compared to Gears Of War and COD aswell, Im guessing because its of the feel of roaming around streets with soldiers much like the games... thats it though
Best lines from the film I remember (along the lines of...)
Soldier "If only we had help to dissect this alien to find its weak spots!"
Lady "I can help, Im a veterinarian"
LMAO!
Heart warming (nnawwwtt) moment an officer admits he isnt happy he lived and his troops died
"Yes my troops, your brother, ALL DIED!
And Ive regretted it wasnt my life taken every day since! I'm still here, like the punch line to a bad joke."
