Dashcam Alternative - Using your smartphone was created by Chris CW
If you've seen the Russian dash cam videos you know how useful they can be, either in an accident or to capture something extraordinary!
So instead of forking out for one theres something you can use that pretty much everyone has these days, your smartphone!
Get a phone holder to position it a suitable position (active one will help avoid heavy battery drain, be sure the camera can see through it too), install a Dashcam app, and you're onto a winner!
It might take some trial and error to find the best app for you, best one I've found so far though is DailyRoads Voyager (Free - voted 4.5/5) - https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... ds.v&hl=en
Theres also Dashboard Cam (Free - 3.5/5) - https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... dcam&hl=en
All found on Android, Dashboard Cam is available on iOS but is poorly rated - see what you can find!
Might be an idea to boost your storage too while you're at it (although some of the apps only permanently store the 'events' you tell it to)
Heres some deals on MicroSD cards (price always dropping though):
32GB SanDisk Ultra (High Speed Class 10) £18.50 - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sandisk-Ultra-C ... 246&sr=1-3
32GB SanDisk (Low Speed) £11.32 - http://www.amazon.co.uk/SanDisk-SDSDQM- ... 246&sr=1-1
16GB SanDisk (Low Speed) £8.44 - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002 ... ukdeals-21
