Welcome to another newsletter from Shakespeare County Raceway, Long Marston Airfield. Well, it’s the final event of the year this weekend, and I have to say where’s the season gone! Well, its gone pretty quickly from where we started in April to the final weekend of October. Wow, and what a year its been. Quite simply another roller coast ride of events and more planned for 2011.

Back to this weekend October 30th/31st. It’s our traditional season ending Halloween Bonfire Burn-Up. A kind of a fun weekend with no serious competition to speak off. Just one last chance to blast your street car or street bike down the quarter mile safely in normal Public Track Day conditions.

There will be a number of well known drag racing names coming to entertain you and themselves at the same time such as Wild Bunch members, Dick Sharp with the nostalgic looking Austin bodied altered and Dave Williams in his conventional Model T altered. The Orange Pop Outlaw Anglia will be out to entertain as always along with a few other racers from the Bunch.

Its also the final in the Monster Month of Junior Madness series of races for the Junior Dragsters and Junior Drag Bikes as the youngsters let rip one more time this year in their high powered drag cars and bikes. Practice comes Saturday for the 5 round Shootout on Sunday with trophies sponsored by 3T Creative.

Its also the final race of our Bracket Gamblers series on Sunday too. Two weeks ago 21 cars lined up to do battle in our special ET Bracket race for money and prizes but you have to be in it to win it. With entries coming in from the Outlaw Street racers, Tog from Eurodragster.com and some very special but quick comp cars you can be sure of a really quick race is install for those watching. Two ‘Dial for £’ qualifiers in the morning and elimination rounds in the afternoon are the order of the day. Full details can be found on our SCR ET Bracket Gamblers Race Facebook page.

Saturday evening sees the traditional Halloween Ball, bonfire and fireworks. Later in Kenny’s Bar the adult and kids fancy dress competitions will be hosted by none other than Woody Stevens and his gang with music from Wendy’s Disco and much more besides.

The Volvo Performance Owners Club and the Turbo Diesel Owners Club will he holding ET Shootouts for their club members. Other clubs are invited to attend.

Gates open on Friday evening at 6.00pm. Track will open for RWYB on Saturday and Sunday at 10.00 am subject to track and weather conditions permitting until 5.00pm. And don’t forget to put your clocks back! Its that time of year again.

Admission is £12 per person each day of £22 per person for a weekend pass. Track fee for unlimited runs all day, or weekend long is £20 or £35 per person. Don’t forget your Drivers Licence and Crash Helmet, and hopefully we’ll see you at the strip!
