Old Skool Ford & Drag Weekends was created by Shakespeare
In addition to the Pro Street Drag Series at Stratford-Upon-Avon’s Shakespeare County Raceway next month’s Public Track Day (September 5th/6th) will see another round for the highly popular Old Skool Ford Drag Challenge. Averaging around 25 to 30 cars (a mix of Mk 1 and Mk 2 Escort’s, Cortina’s, IO5E Anglia’s and Pops) per round Saturday is practise day (optional) where you can hone in on your start line techniques and reaction times with round six being run on the Sunday. All new members welcome. All you need is your road-worthy car, your driving licence, money and a sense of humour! If you haven’t had a go at this before, now is the time to try it out. Or you can come and watch and soak up the atmosphere. It’s a Public Track Day too where all signed on drivers taking to the track will be automatically entered into the Sunday Special Track Challenge for 4,5,6 and 8 cylinder cars to find the quickest of the day; Fiestas, Focus’ you name it if it’s a Ford then you can race it! Winners will go home with a nice souvenir trophy for their efforts as well as other goodies donated by our supporters. Ford fans get a double treat in October for the annual Ford Weekend on 3rd/4th. Already a few clubs have signed up for this. We can offer club display parking as well as any club competitions to be decided on the drag strip. There will be trophies to find the quickest Ford’s of the day in various categories; Front Wheel Drive, Rear Wheel Drive and so on….
