yeah their is no room in the boot for 2 subs and amp thats the only other way

You still should put in the second sub! 
Dont think the amp will cook too badly, aslong as the top isnt covered too. I wouldnt of used hammerite on your side mirror based plates, never gives a smooth finish imo <!-- s:? --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_confused.gif" alt="" title="Confused" /><!-- s:? -->
