Chris CW wrote: Cable ties? Nice and easy way of doing it, aslong as it doesnt rattle! You can get full HID kits for £50, how much is the replacement part?

Ties have been a previous success with the job.

The ballast ive found so far is £60 second hand. Brand new are £190. These 'kits' from £50 any good though and what grade? Mine are 6000.

Their A grade (?), and good yeah - any brightness - mine are 6k too and theyve been fine, so have loads of other peoples. You'd be silly to get a £60 second hand ballast when you can just get a new kit entirely, imo anyway lol

Fixed my HIDs :) , got a 2nd hand ballast replacement. The ballast pack also distributes side lights etc so as its OEM it was alot easier just to get another ballast. Mine were slightly different though so had to rewire the earth but all working now.

Had my MOT today, was worried there would be all sorts of problems as the last company to put it through its MOT was the importer. Was all good though - Failed first time on headlight levels, after a quick adjustment it went through fine...with one advisory item

Got my windscreen fixed with that residue stuff this morning, still visable but shouldnt crack any further. Was free off my insurance and fixed it at my house to :)

Fitted a sticky plate. Imports fall under slightly different regulations with number plates. I have a print off of the regulations which should cover it. Im sure Meganeguy may be able to clear this up for me.

Before - Real crap number plate

After -

You shouldnt get in trouble for that, it probably isnt legal, but as long as thier ANPR doesnt struggle to read it they generally wont stop you about a reg plate.

unless they are REALLY bored
