failed MOT :(

200 failed its MOT last week..


needed new rear pads which are sorted and emissions were WELL out! (left the De-Cat on)

had it re-tested today with the CAT on and.... heres the scores on the doors...


Fast Idle Test - CO % Vol: MAX limit: 0.300 My Actual Value: 4.928 FAIL
HC ppm Vol: Max limit: 200 My Actual Value: 251 FAIL
Lambda: Min limit: 0.970 Max Limit: 1.030 My Actual Value: 0.871 FAIL

Second Fast Idle Test:

CO % Vol: MAX limit: 0.300 My Actual Value: 6.256 FAIL
HC ppm Vol: Max limit: 200 My Actual Value: 277 FAIL
Lambda: Min limit: 0.970 Max Limit: 1.030 My Actual Value: 0.837 FAIL



Any ideas?

Engine probably needs a clean internally, fuel system running too rich or a dodgy CAT.

use someone elses exhaust

Take it somewhere better

possible lambda sensor or cat is shagged lo

it woz the lambda sensor, hes ordered a new one so should be sweet

were the retests for free?

Wont help when your miles off but if its hit and miss, go for a very hard drive and you'll be fine

well i ordered the new lambda sensor BUT its still fooked but because where the sensor goes in thats knackered and cant get hold of the part until at least Tuesday..

Retest's were free but hope im still under when its sorted all they got to do is the emmissions everything else is fine but nope still no car
