springs are the cheapest. try fleabay.
as disscused in other threads the other way is to cut the standard springs or shrink them. both of these are not advisable as can screw the handling up and can be dangerous.

Can cost from £40 for new springs and these would sell for £20+ second hand.

get some bricks in the boot one way to lower it without paying.
but i doubt your gona do it properly for free unless someone will give ya springs etc
