Hids in angel eyes??? was created by lewys
I have been looking into buying some angel eyes and then a hid conversion kit.
But i heard you cant use hids on angel eyes...... not entirely sure why but something to do with the light pattern????
anybody know anything about this?
if i cant have both which would you say is better the angel eyes or hids?
ALSO are hids strictly legal?

you should be able to use them lewys, just make sure with the company you order them from.also hids should work well if the lights are projector (reflector) type lenses as it makes the beam pattern better.
towards legality, hids should only be fitted if the car has a headlamp washer system,if i am correct?

im thinking about just puttin hids on my standard lights instead of the angel eyes, cos if i bought angel eyes apparently the light they emit is .... garbage
but if i had hids you wouldnt see that they were angel eyes anyway so there would be no point!

I know this isn't as elaborate as installing a full HID kit, but why don't you just buy some Xenon Effect bulbs to give the same sort of image/impression? You can pick up a set of legal, E-Marked ones from ebay for around 10 quid, and they provide loads of light and look quality! Just done it on my Punto, and I'm very happy with it.

legality is all due to who MOTs your car etc.

you can't run HID kits on Halo lights cause it will melt the light, in the "small" print it says againest using them because the halo light altogether isnt built to withstand the shear heat from HID kits as they us an arc of electric if i remember correctly not gases or they burn 10x brighter cause massive heat build up, i would go with super bright lights and save on Halo thats why im selling mine, was the first "mod" i did to the car so now i want to change it
