But a little good news for the boyos :P

http://www.confused.com/car-insurance/a ... nt=October

Last year, the European Court of Justice (ECJ) ruled that the long-established practice of setting insurance prices according to gender is illegal discrimination. The Court’s decision forced members of the European Union to introduce a ban on gender-based pricing, and this ban will come into force on 21 December 2012.

What does this mean?

Currently, women drivers typically pay less for car insurance than their male counterparts because they are statistically safer behind the wheel – that is, women drivers have fewer accidents. But, as of December, women’s car insurance prices will be brought into line with men’s. This means that women’s premiums are likely to be raised significantly.

However, while the EU ruling is bad news for women, it’s good news for men’s prices, particularly young male drivers who can expect their premiums to fall.

So up to 24% more for women and up to 9% less for men on car insurance

I reckon they will keep the male insurance premiums the same, and then just simply up the female prices
When have insurance companies ever done anything to help make our insurance cheaper?

If it does drop though, my renewal is Jan! :D

They still are making money.

Up to 25% increase for women - Up to 10% saving for men = 10% increase overall
