Engines going bang.... was created by Meganeguy
Over the last few days, the Meganesport forum has seen 5 members report their engines going bang. Each case is the same - i.e. Piston 4, in 1st or 2nd and at low revs. The age / mileage / tuned state of the cars are all different - theres a '54 plate with 44k, 2 x 57 plates with between 25k and 30k, an 06 plate (I think) and one last night (details not known). They are a mix of standard, stage 1 and stage 2, so tuning isn't the issue (the 06 plate belongs to RSTuning in Leeds, and was the owners own project car, so was done really well). All but one were running V-Power (one was on Momentum, but changed to V Power, then 40 miles later - bang) All are based up North - Scotland and the North of England.
My question - What is likely to have caused these to all go in such a short space of time? Crap batch of rods / pistons? Piss poor fuel mix somewhere?
Does anyone here know of anyone who can rebuild engines at a decent price (incase mine goes!)

poor batch between 54 plate and a 07 i doubt it.
poor fuel ...yes... i only ever ran my scooby on tescos 99 octane or such as i trust there fuel more than eny generally.
never filled up if the tanker was filling the tanks...it could be due to how there being driven recently aswell as turbo cars like these HATE the heat and with the air being so thin they will pretty much starve the engine
