I'd try the usual:

Induction kit with a good cold air intake
Performance exhaust manifold
Exhaust

Or try something different and see if you can find throttle bodies that will fit and standalone management.

This all depends on your budget.

im gonna start saving for a redtop conversion for the end of the year about £1400 should be enough to get it all done

With the risk of sounding like a party pooper, I'd avoid doing modifications that are far more than your car is worth as if you decide that you're bored of your motor you will never recoup what you've paid out.

If you're spending a lot of cash, think seriously about how long you will keep your car and whether the benefits will outweigh the outlay :)

I agree with Dave on that, but then none of us are doing this as an investment...

In any case, stuff the redtop conversion. It's getting hard to find a good one these days and the parts are well available for the Baby XE (X16XE) conversions.

In any case, the mods above (although I'd ditch the induction kit and get a proper sealed unit like a K&N Apollo or a Pipercross Viper) plus throttle boddies if you can afford it will give you about 160 - 180bhp and less weight than a redtop conversion.

I'd keep it normally aspirated, but although modding is no investment, you will at least have to keep the car for a good while so that it offsets your money outlay on the mods :)
