The temperature? It shouldnt go higher than just over half way on the coupes, mine went 3/4 of the way did and low and behold it was knackered - Ive spent over 2k getting the engine sorted and now its finally done! Temperature sits just under half way in traffic

Thats not right <!-- s:? --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_confused.gif" alt="

" title="Confused" /><!-- s:? --> With me the garage didnt bother skimming the head and it just cooked afew weeks later after losing all its water, then when they did it again the piston ring had gone - so I started fresh with a lower mileage engine and [touch wood] its been fine since. Ive not been back to the garage since, and dont intend to, I found a renault specialist who works from home to do my work from now on - and hes only round the corner! Shame Im getting rid eh...

not skimming the head after gasket failure is just asking for more probs and is a bodge!
and imo ALWAYS use genuine cambelt kits and gaskets the quality is far better than any motor factor shite
and if your gonna pay a garage todo the work always supply genuine gaskets and belts because they will fit the cheapest crap they can find and it wont last.

dude if ya need any help gimme a shout, they clearly never did the head gasket properly!!! and as for cambelts i only fit gates one's now, the best on the market, now some manufacturers are fittin them as standard!!! but they're cheaper to buy from motor stores and exactly the same kit!!!! megane's need specialist kit for timing on em too!!! as there's no timing marks!! all done by pins!!! If ya want the job doin can do it cheap! as ya well know its jus the parts that are costly!!! Prob's cheapest option is to get a head from a breakers, skim it and fit that!!!!
in fine spirits like a dog on heat!!!!
