ill be goin to my mates in surrey to do it tomorrow afternoon, cos he has the proper hose tools, which i havent got.
although if the filter is too big... i might fit in a ducting pipe to move it into some space...
other wise ive got up a back up plan

Right this was a full on pain to fit... ended up having to use about a metre of ducting to relocate the filter!
what a pest, the filter was too big to fit where i wanted, thanks to nonsense dimensions on the website i got it off!
then the TB measured 55mm OD, but had a slight lip on it... making it about 57mm OD, making 55mm ducting VERY difficult to attatch!
solved this by covering the gap, using one of the spare neck reducers that came with my filter
not to mention the 180 degree turn follwed by a twist to avoid the bonnet catch, then having to be help up away from the fan! lol!
and then where the rediculous turn was the pipe split, so a bit of tape
will be getting some aluminium tape to do a better job shortly
but after all that, it looks nice and shiny, didnt have to take my nice tidy airbox off
and it does make a nice noise
not really noticeable at idle or stationary revving, although you can hear quite a metallic suck when it first picks up
best noise is when you are actually driving along and out of first, and you catch the next gear in low revs. there is a nice deep burble
thats my fav
as for noticeable performance increase... N/A! lol

Loving the use of cable ties! Reminds me of my attempt at fitting a K&N on my old Escort...(but yours is much neater! lol)
First attempt....with washing line...
Second attempt, with a shitload of cable ties...
