Smd 's anyone out there done the conversion themselves? Have done one window switch (tricky that was) just need some pointers. And what soldering iron you used. The tip on mine seems too big.

Ive done SMDs on my dials, heater controls and window switches
My iron was a cheap one off eBay, didnt seem to have any problems with the standard tip. I just put the SMD in place then heated the contacts slightly, seemed to be enough solder left on the contacts to secure it straight away - worked first time, and still works now. The SMDs were the tiniest ones too!
