iPods?? was created by Bluefox
After years of denial, I've finally got an iPod.

Now, I'm a bit rusty on this now so I thought I'd pick your collective nose. Or brain. Whichever.

Anyway, I've got a 5th gen Nano and I've just got mum a 4th gen Nano and niether of them work on the spare Alpine iDA-X300.

IIRC this is because of a change that Apple made do with the charging - the newer ones need a 12v feed to charge off something that isn't a computer, whereas the older ones would happily take the 5v from a standard USB port. I also think this doesn't affect the iPod Classic; that still works with the old and the new stuff.

Confusingly though, non-car related stereos charge and control both iPods fine. <!-- s:evil: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_evil.gif" alt=":evil:" title="Evil or Very Mad" /><!-- s:evil: -->

So, I've got a few questions:

1) At what point did they change the design of the Nano's... 3rd gen?

2) What's the correct AI-net adaptor for the 4/5th gen Nano's - the KCA-422i, or another unit?

Thanks in advance lol :)
