ive got a switch in dash for my amp 
did it from remote cable then earthed it to make the switch iluminate. realy simple mate .

i just put a swith on my remote wire works fine for me so will work for you 
i have 4 amps in my car and i have one swith that turns off both subz so if u got amped 6x9s or somethink u could trun the sub off and still have your 6x9s working if u wanted
