need some help/advice was created by james09
i buyin a sub amp and wiring kit of my m8,

but was wondering if there was some way i cud mount a switch on the dash or some where near the centre console so i cud turn the turn the sub and ampp off, as i wudnt want it on all the time

some sort of inline switch or something

yeah just a inline switch from malins would do i think, put it in the remote wire.

As said, simple switch (Halfords etc do them too) and your off! If its one that lights up you'll need an earth wire too, but other than that just the remote lead - cut into that between your HU and your amp - jobs a good'un!

yeppo,deffo going witrh the majority here,it should be pretty easy to put a switch in the remote switch line for the amp,or you could just switch the live.i used to have a pikey way of doing this and pulled the fuse out of the amp when i didnt want my sub running!

lol, i just want a lil switch mounted somewhere so i can turn it on or of, with out having to piss about with the settin on the head unit.

just done some drawings for the box which i shud be starting at the weekend if the weather is gd :)

Sounds good!
Dont do it Eds way with the live though LOL
If your car hasnt got all the extras there may already be a slot spare where you can pop out the plastic cover and slide a switch in, have a look around ;)

Well you know switches for things like A/C, fog lights etc - they normally have their own switch position. If you dont have it (as an extra), its filled with a dummy switch or just a blank like slot - you could adapt so your sub switch fits inline with the rest of your dash layout... if that makes sense?

o right yea i get ya :) how thick is the remote cable ???? cud i fit like a luminated switchin it do u think??
