Car Alarms? was created by Bluefox
I'm looking at sorting out the security on the G60 while I'm in the process of... er... fixing the engine.

Just wondered what everyone's opinions were - seems to me everyone raves about Cliffords but they strike me as overpriced and the "chav-tastic" make.

I've currently got a Scorpion immobiliser to Thatcham 2 but I'm looking to go to cat 1.

Any thoughts/suggestions? Recommended installers? Who/what to avoid?

All comments appreciated :)

when i was on the phone to my insurance, they said that for the price of getting a fancy alarm, there would be negligable savings on my premium. as for my car (and presume my low risk post code) the price of the alarm wouldn't be payed off by the savings... and that the factory immobiliser on a modern car is ample

I might get a rover tuner to tune my gt40 turbo on my left testicle to run 400000 bhp lol

It's not for the insurance actually. I know most people go for cat 1's for that reason - but being an old bastard my insurance isn't too bad <!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt="" title="Laughing" /><!-- s:lol: -->

Just after it to stop it getting stolen, etc, plus I'd like remote central locking.

iv just had a Clifford advant guard 5.5 fitted to my car the other day by gap security..

all seems good so far it dose just about everything! could probs make you a cuppa tea if it had some more buttons lol
very tidy install can't see any wires put all my car back together properly! cost a fortune tho but i know its not going anywhere now! it tells you off if you get to close lol

no one would insure my car without a cat 1 alarm this year!?

Cheers gents. Was thinking about using GAP as they do monthly payments, don't they?

Although I could spank my credit card ;)

Yeah, was looking at the Toads. I'm a bit concerned about a Clifford as it seems to be paying a lot for the name.
