AMP protected - help ??????

i wired all mi sub and amp up but on the amp there a red light n it ses protected and when i earth it , it goes off when its ment to turn green so it works,, the amps defo getting power cus the lights on the onl thing i fink it cud is the remote lead theres a blue remoted lead coming off the stereo and there 1 thats on the back of the harness thing with do i connect the lead to ?

hi mate,

you should have 3 wires to power the amp.

red live for battery
black earth for somewhere grounded in boot
blue wire remote which connects to the back of your stereo headunit.

when all connected the amp should come on and off the same time as your stereo.

If your having problems, might be the grounding point, are you connecting it to painted metal? If so it's best to sand it down to bare metal.

Yeah sounds as though the remote lead isnt working.

its pretty simple,there should be a small blue wire in the rear of the stereo,extend this with wire to the amp and it should fire up,the remote lead sends a 5v live down the remote lead to tell the amp that it has a source,which it should then turn on and power up

what JP said, but quality of earth will be a major factor

theres a wire cumin off the head unit sayin amp and its blue thats the 1 i have been wire'in it to , im earthing it to a bolt on the bk of the car , bt when i earth the protect light goes off
