Choosing new tyres was created by dr_hillmann

Currently on 205/50 R16 toyo proxes on my RS wheels for my fez

but will be needing new ones soon

dont tell me yoko paradas!! i need something good for clocking up the motorway miles so need something hard wearing and long lasting!

possibly need to go to a lower profile for when i fit coil-overs... and will probs need to have the tyre wall stretched on the back, as the wheels are wide and scrub on the back over bumps... so will need to keep them inside the arches!

suggestions please!

Go for Conti Sport Contacts. They last ages and ages. Had them with my Mad DERV Mondy, they were phenomenal.

Depends where you go, avoid kwik s**t and national etc. Any local fitters can get them ordered in. 205/50R17s were around £120 a tyre a couple of years ago. I haven't looked recently as I never bothered getting Conti's on the Scorp.

Well worth the $$$s! They're fooking fantastic! Wonderful tread patterns too.

wow 120 a corner is pretty steep!

would the average tyre fitter fit with a stretch??

An independent tyre fitter would probably get them a lot cheaper. £120 was a silly price to pay, I just couldn't be bothered to shop around that day.

Aim for £80(ish) a tyre, tops.

that sounds a bit fairer... lol

just need to see how low it goes on the back, and then what needs to be done to get them under the arches
