INSURANCE APPROVED THATCHAM CATEGORY 1 ALARMS – Fully insurance approved remote alarm. Includes battery back-up siren, interior ultra-sonic sensors, visual warning LED, override facility and certificate of installation. Remote alarms include 2 remote fobs and will operate the vehicles central locking if fitted. Plip upgrade and can-bus alarms use existing vehicles remote fobs.

NON THATCHAM ALARMS – These alarms are identical in quality to the thatcham alarms, but are not insurance approved. They work in the same way, but the siren is non battery back up, and don’t include an insurance certificate. These alarms are used when the insurance company don’t require a cat 1 unit to be fitted. However they still provide excellent security for a cheaper price.

REMOTE CENTRAL LOCKING – This is for vehicles that already have central locking, but without remotes. Either key operated or lost/faulty original remotes. These kits will operate the original central locking system, and will come with 2 remotes.

We do not use any of the cheap Chinese alarms.

PARKING SENSORS

More and more cars are being fitted with parking sensors, with main dealers charging any where upto £500 for 1 set.

A replacement bumper can easily cost £300+

The parking sensors will assist the driver with parking, and stop almost all accidental damage caused while parking.

All sensors supplied and fitted will be colour coded to the vehicle where applicable, (paint code will be needed), so even on older cars, they will look like factory fitted sensors.

Any non standard work not previously listed will be charged at a basic labour charge of £45 per hour or part of, unless arranged prior to any work carried out. Any parts required will be charged for as necessary. All parts and equipment supplied by D.C. Alarms carries a 12 month warranty from date of supply/fitting, apart from SmarTrack units which are covered by a 3 year warranty. Hi mate, i dont have any intention of dealing with clifford, always thought they were overpriced yanky alarms.
I can do you a top of the range toad ai606 at a good price. I prefer the quality of toad compared to the cliffords.

which of ur alarms has proxy sensors? need one to stop peeps keying the pride and joy

none of the alarms i do come with a microwave (proxy sensor) as standard kit, but can be added as an extra.

how easy is remote start to add to a system. i take it the alarm has to be compatible
or can you add something on?

auto watch used to do an add on remote start system, but it is now discontinued, and i am unable to obtain any units, i have tried in the past. clifford do thier intellistart, only works with clifford alarms, but i dont deal with clifford, nor will i be doing so in the future. the only other option would be a cheap and nasty chinese alarm from ebay. i work on the basis that i will only supply and fit a product i would be willing to use on my own vehicles. i will not have a cheap chinese alarm, or clifford/viper etc on any of my vehicles. i will fit a cheap chinese alarm, if you was to buy it yourself, but i would only warrant my labour and not the product. and i only have clifford tech sheets upto around 2004 ish.

current legislation regarding remote start alarms in this country basically mean its a big no no. as of 1996 all uk spec cars must have by law a thactham cat 2 immobiliser factory fitted as a minimum. by putting a remote start alarm onto anything 1996 or newer needs to disable the immobiliser, and then voids your insurance. most insurance companies will refuse to insure any car with remote start, some will accept the use of a clifford intellistart system, but only a few, and they will put the premiums up.

my alarms start from £150 fully fitted (wm members prices), brands include toad, scorpion, cobra, meta, gemini, sigma etc etc.

my prices have not gone up in price with the vat increase, i am trying to keep them at pre vat increase prices for as long as possible, however all my suppliers have increased thier prices.
