Council MOT Centres in Warwickshire/West Midlands

The council has some centres purely for their MOTs, which don't even carry out repairs. By law these centres have to be open to the public too, and since they don't do repairs they do not benefit from failing your car and adding loads of costly repairs to the bill - because they cant do them!

Remember to still keep on top of your cars condition, its still a full and thorough test. Even the basics like lights account for 21% of MOT failures, then 9% on tyres and 9% on windscreens - all of which should be really obvious things!
Also note that because unlike a normal garage that might test and restest onsite for free if they did the repairs, taking the vehicle away from a council test centre for repairs might mean paying the retest fee again, or being discounted up to half price, or even still free if brought back the next day - all depending on the test centre

Some people will prefer to go through a proper MOT procedure (genuinely need it checking for safety) without being ripped off and told it needs 'this and that', because these MOT only centres can't fit 'this and that' and therefore gain nothing. Its not a dodgey MOT, its still a perfectly legit and thorough test just with a higher pass rate compared to some con artist garages (because they fail it to fit 'this and that')

Its not just the council either, theres private centres that only do MOTs aswell

Personally I cant see myself never needing one since I know afew garages with good reputations and know abit more about my car, but thought it would be useful info for others thats all
