Had an MG 20i maesty, it went well and handled okay. Finding one which isn't rotten as a pear may be a prob but there are some really late maesty's out there, passed an L in red on the T plate the other day!!
LIfe moves Pretty Quick, If you don't stop and take a look around every once in a while you might just miss it!! (Ferris Bueller)

glad to see theres someone out their that agrees, absolute rust buckets simple as.
Hmm. You can't get much more simple than a 1998cc, SOHC, mechanically turbocharged engine - and the Maestro wasn't exactly a heavy car.
Specs:
Drive: Front wheel
Engine:
No of cylinders: 4 in line
Capacity: 1,994 cc
Bore & Stroke: 84.5 mm x 89 mm
Valve operation: Single ohc, two valves per cylinder
Fuel system: Garret T3 turbo through single SU
Max Power: 150 bhp @ 5,100 rpm
Max Torque: 169 Ib/ft @ 3,500 rpm
Transmission: Type: 5 speed manual
Suspension:
Front: Independent McPherson strut, lower wishbones, coil springs, anti roll bar
Rear: Semi independent torsion beam axle, trailing arms, coil springs, anti roll bar
Brakes: Disc front, drum rear with servo assistance
Steering: Rack and pinion, power assisted
Wheels: 5J x 15.
Tyres: 185/55 R15
Performance: 0-60 mph; 6.7 secs
Max Speed: 132 mph
Fuel comsumption: 22.2 mpg
Price new 1989: £13,529
0-60 in 6.7? You know a FWD car that can beat that? I'm not too sure...
Maestro's, Montego's and Metros... whilst they may now be rusty piles of pants, they saved Rover/BL/Austin/whatever they were called that week back in the 80's.
