Warwickshire Police get tuned up!

Joining the ever-growing number of satisfied Mountune Performance customers is Warwickshire Police, with their brand new Focus ST.

When we were recently contacted by the Midlands based constabulary it was clear that they needed something that would give drivers of their fleet of Focus ST a noteworthy edge during pursuits. With TUV approval and full backing from Ford themselves they knew the Mountune Performance ST260 upgrade would offer a hassle-free, reliable performance boost even under the most arduous of conditions.

Police Sergeant Andrew Rawson says; "Warwickshire Police have been running Focus ST's on the Operations Task Force for the past two years. These vehicles are in the front line of Roads Policing responding to incidents and taking a pro-active approach to denying criminals the use of Warwickshire's roads. With the assistance of the Mountune Performance modification our officers are better equipped to carry out their duties and further reduce the risk of harm caused to its communities within Warwickshire."

The Mountune Performance ST260 upgrade consisiting of; a larger Pro Alloy intercooler, K&N panel filter, and recalibrated ECU increase the engines' performance from 225PS to 260PS, and increases torque to a rather substantial 400NM. It's the huge amount of torque that also makes the Mountune-equipped offering easier to drive in every day traffic situations as Sergeant Rawson adds; "We've been very excited about the Mountune Performance modifications. The car is now more responsive and with the benefit of the improved torque the officers engaged in response and pursuit situations have more options available to them. Response driving is stressful and inherently hazardous but with the improved performance that the Mountune Performance modification has offered it's reduced the overall risk to the officers, and therefore the public."

The first car was upgraded at Mountune's own facilities in Brentwood with a greater number of Focus ST expected to receive the same treatment over the coming weeks and months.
