Basically we all drive to the hotel. When it's time to go and drink, some nice folk might give us a lift into town so we don't have to get taxis there. Then when we're getting in taxis later on, back to the hotel, it's better to tell the cab driver to go up the service road cos the fare will be cheaper.

how about the people driving into town don't have to pay for their return journey? that seems fair and i wont mind paying the extra for a lift into town.

Yeh if anyone gives a lift i dont mind either giving them a bit of money or buying them a drink to say thanks.
