how will it benefit your mpg its a bit of plastic?... dont beleive everything you read
not exactly myth mate... its pretty well poven
having a smooth underside to your car drastically reduces drag! its obvious really
"Air flows underneath the car is always undesirable. There are many components, such as engine, gearbox, driving shaft, differential etc, exposed in the bottom of the car. They will obstruct the air flow, not only cause turbulence which increase drag, but also slow down the air flow thus increase lift. (Remember Bernoullis's Principle ?)."

weight would be negligable... its plastic!Dann wrote: It will definately make a difference if you disregard the extra weight but I dont think it will be blatently noticeable. Whether the extra weight will counteract the reduction in drag I dont know, but will find out when I fit mine. Mines only for protection anyway so either way I'm not too fussed.

aero dynamics have more effect than you would think, considering drag increases as the square of speed!readie si wrote: sounds like a sales patter to me to get people to waste money on somthing that doesnt make a great deal of differance, obviously if you have a high performance car eg a touring car or rally it will make it more stable and yes will reduce drag but i wouldnt think it will make a great deal of differance on 1.4
and considering i do 70mph for 50 miles every day, i think the difference would be noticeable
not really sales patter, bottom on an f1 car is smooth, and they purposly develop things that come down onto road cars eventually
there are already cars on the road which have large splash trays which cover the air hole underneath the car, for both protection and aero... so its hardly a gimmick
