for anyone that doesnt know its a 2004 1.4 16v renault clio.
oh and it has not brought on an engine light,i believe it could be the coils as apparently they are common on renaults

the car pops and drags when it does it,it is gradually getting worse too,as originally it was only when i was accelerating hard but now it is at all engine speeds and loads.
does sound good when its happening though,i have made a renault impreza!

You got a de-cat, or standard? may be blocked cat, but never usually causes missfire much, usually just blows the shit out.
just check the simple stuff, if you know someone with a clio, try their coils et, saves you buying them

give the plugs a check never no might have a dud one
but think your on the right track im not familier with renults but i expect its on a coil pack? i had a similar problem on my old escort gti and the focus check the leads for any tears and check the conectors if they seem ok id replace the coil pack and go from there
