ive seen a saxo dash in an ax but its a fair amount of work to do
im buying an ax and doing the vts conversion for a track car but it will probably be dashless with clocks so cant help you there
contact Rickyp_rpm he has a website, he has done several vtr/s conversions on these so should be a big help to you

my mates is burgandy but has no cage , mine is dark grey/green with omp cage.
defo worth doing for a track car, thats what mine was made for and its a great laff !

That must shift, but fair play has he a death wish?
As for a 1600 8v, I think that's a better choice as the torque will make for a better drive. You could also go for the 1400 8v from something like a 106 XSI would make for a good, cheaper and slightly easier conversion.
