Suspicious Car - Coventry/Birmingham was created by Chris CW
Worth a mention since its local....

Taken from VXRonline (spotted by Millz)

Hi ladies and gents - I have put on my flame proof suit as I have come over from the MeganeSport forum (please be nice!). I thought I'd give those of you in the Coventry / South Birmingham area a heads up to a suspect vehicle I encountered last week -

Last Weds, driving home from work in Birmingham to Coventry at about 9pm, I spotted a knackered black Toyota Celica (the pauper model - i.e. without the airscoop at the front) near Birmingham Airport on the A45. The car was 2 up, with a duff off side head light. I didn't think much of it at the time (I noticed it because it had a set of alloys similar to those on my Megane). I noticed as I drove towards Coventry that this car was matching my speed, but staying far enough back so as no to get my attention (it wouldn't have been noticeable had it not been for the duff light). As I turned into my road (a fairly quiet road at any time of day apart from school run time) this car followed, but made sure it kept a distance (it even stopped at the junction for a few seconds to allow me to get a bit of a gap). Because I was aware of this I drove straight past my house and threw the car into the pub car park at the bottom of the road, The Celica pulled up just before the car park entrance and waited for a minute or so before doing a U turn and parking up right opposite the entrance with its lights off. I pulled out and went a different way to the way they were facing. I did a lap of the block and when I returned, they'd gone. The Police are aware, however the vehicle is currently not of interest to Police (i.e. it's not come to their attention before). The car is registered to near where I first saw it. The reg is X529 JWP - I only saw the passenger of the vehicle - white male, mid / late 20's, medium build with either very close cropped fair hair or a bald head.

Thought I'd put this out there just in case they didn't want to comment on my nice car but steal it, in which case they pay take a liking to others they see!

Further to the post above (which is posted on the Meg forum) - about a month ago another Megane owner had his RS250 stolen as he dropped his car of to BTM motors near Birmingham airport by 2 guys wielding hammers - they didn't injure him too badly, but took the keys and the car. The car was recovered a few days later. These 2 guys were seen to follow him in a black Celica. I know there will always be rivalry between the Megane / VXR / ST ownes etc, but I thought I'd try and build bridges between different marques and make you all aware of these sh1t bags!

I originally posted that as it was me in the new Meg that the buggers followed.

You tell 'em, Han!

Good to see folk looking out for each other. Will keep an eye out. If anyone comes at me with a hammer they can have the f**king car though!

Being the person who was followed / posted this, and being in the line of work I'm in, there was no paranoia at all - I'm pretty good at spotting sus behaviour. These guys were following me, no doubt. There is no reason to be down my road apart from either living there (which they don't as the car is registered via insurance, DVLA and PNC to Birmingham) or to go to the pub - which they didn't as I pulled in to the car park and they didn't. It's ok though, next time I won't bother tipping other idiots like you off - they can have your car insted of mine. Fool.
