My vauxhall astra 1.7dti was created by Spence
For those of u out there who dont know me or the car iv owned my astra over 4 yrs now in which its had a hard life to say the least, she's been written of twice, 2 new engines, 6 gearboxes, 3 sets of shocks (2 of which wmare coilovers) and many many more items replaced. Iv always let the engine and everythin appart from the body and interior standard (not even a air filter) she puts out a eye watering 64bhp!!
So all was good untill last week when the old girl with (208000 miles on the clock) finsly let go again wen the head gasket blew (bearing in mind it had a new head and comp top end only 6000miles ago)
So surley its time to give up and start again with a new car i hear u say!!
Nope another new engine has been bought. Managed to find one with only 48k on it and comes with a 6month warrenty delivered to my door for £430+ vat.
And so it begins
Finally got the engine on the floor last nite
So now gota start changing bits over onto the new engine tonite.
Had to order a new radiator as mine had split so found a brand new one on ebay for £46,
weve ripped all the air-con off and out the way leaving me with alot more space infront of the rad , new belt ordered for the non air-con model and a new lower rad hose as mine had seen betta days lol.
Then last nite when i was sat browsing through ebay this feel into my bought list think this will fill the gap in front of my radiator and front panel nicely
Iv also got the front section of the exhaust with me today to chop the cat out and weld a straight pipe in its place, and i should have my new k&n delivered
So hopefully now when its all back together it should go abit betta and wen there re-maped with just a filter iv seen these run around 110-120bhp so with the de-cat, front mount oh and egr valve blocked im hoppin for around the 120-130bhp mark

Admire how long you've kept the astra despite the issues, fingers crossed for a bit more luck now
