AU02 DTF - AUDI S3, RED - This may have been an officers own car, nevertheless I saw it with a fully uniformed Traffic officer having pulled up and was talking to some guy in a 406 at Blockbuster in Leam
CP52 LVU - Toyota Avensis (Taxi-like car!) Dark Blue
Y161 FGE - Vauxhall Vectra LS, 2001, Silver, 5 door
These cars ARE NOT going to be traffic cars. Police forces use vehicles for a maximum of 5/6 years (give or take) due to the abuse they get while being driven. The cars above are either personal vehicles or, more likely CID 'pool' cars. They will not be fitted with lights/sirens/Airwave kits, however, you still can be prosecuted for driving like a twat around them, should the CID bods inside give a shit.
Fraser wrote: they need to find a car that cops can actually drive cuz most coppers are pretty awfull drivers and thats why they write them off all the time
Most coppers actually have very few accidents - and if a Police car is written off, its not as often as the scroates being chased write their (stolen from you) cars off. However, should your car get stolen and reported (not sure what you drive) I'll make sure I dont go after it, just incase I fall into your demographic mentioned?
And people complain of being pulled over when they do things like this? Ok.... And just so everyone knows, there is no such thing as getting blacklisted for complaining about being stopped. Its a myth. The Police can pull you over at anytime they like to check documents/road worthyness of your vehicles. They can stop anyone. Unfortunately, people who drive modded cars (yes, I am one too) have been known to 'bodge' their own mods on, making their cars death traps. Couples with this the fact that a lot (Im not saying all, or casting aspertions, just my own experiences) of modded car drivers also drive like dicks in areas that they shouldnt, and that the Police would overlook if it was elsewhere. The simple fact is; If you dont want to be pulled over, dont a) drive like a twat on busy town centre streets where not only the public can report you, but also CCTV operators will monitor you and report you, or b) do things to attract the attention - i.e. having strobes on your car! That is a PNC intel entry right there - giving the Police more ammunition to stop you / go over your car / inconvienience you.Chris CW wrote: Vlad is the one in the WRC focus, hes got some blue strobes in his bumper - not sure hes been cheeky enough to try and pull people with them yet <!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt="

They will generallty get more active with pulling people over as the weather gets better, as they know more people are out and about on the roads - but no other reason, if they pull you too many times get yourself blacklisted and then they wont be able to anymore

Goo to your local Police Station and Put a Complaint in.. tell them how many times u have been pulledd for No reason..
They will black List You for 3 Months
Bollocks. Nowhere does that happen.
mangel wrote: My dad complained on my behalf originally (1993) as he said it was harrassment. After two weeks of the pulling me everytime I was out he apologised and said he shouldn't have bothered!!
An organisation cant harrass anyone, only individuals can. You could be pulled over once a day for a week by different officers - that isnt harrassment - its a pain in the ass, but it aint harrassment.

Theses cars might be Fire Chief or Ambo controllers cars. Police using Astras as traffic cars? Ha! No chance! Same with the Saab....
However, to add to the list - Warwicks also have a Vectra VXR in Arden Blue that tends to stay North of the County. Im not sure of the reg, although I've seen it at a couple of jobs in the past.
Now, Im sure I'm going to come in for some stick, but meh!

pez wrote: the problem is coppers who have a thing for power.. theres 1 or 2 in redditch that ask silly question to annoy you to get yourself into trouble.. I've been pulled before for "supposed street racing 15 minutes ago" and i had only just come out so showed him the temp guage and it soon shut him up.. was giving me a right arse raping saying its illegal blah blah blah.. just a waste of their own time when someone more needy could require assistance
But dont you get arses in all walks of life? If I formed an opinion on all shop assistants / bar staff just because one or two were shitty with me, I'd never get served!! A lot of how you're treated depends on what we call 'the attitude test' - i.e. if you're gobby / arsey with me, then I will go out of my way to be the same back - the difference is I can be shitty with you AND screw your day up (in as much as keep you there for as long as I deem necessary) - if however, you are polite, and respectful, then I can pretty much guarantee (unless you've done something REALLY wrong) you wouldnt get more than a quick chat - no tickets, no 'advice', no patronising crap (certainly not from me anyway). You also have to remember that if Joe Bloggs walking down the road sees you driving like a tit (in their opinion) and reports you (lets face it, in the eyes of the public, anyone who drives anything other than standard is a 'boy racer'), then the Police have to be seen to be doing something - again, if it was me, I would stop you, see what you were like, and, if you were ok with me, explain why I'd stopped you, ask you to be aware of how your driving MAY be percieved, and leave you to it. THe point Im trying to make in a few posts is that most Police Officers dont pick on people driving modded cars - there are reasons why you get stopped - strobes in the front bumber is a prime example (using that as its a recent post in this thread).
We're not all cnuts - infact most of us are pretty normal! I do get a bit annoyed when there is a general "All Police are wankers" type thread, as its not the case.

Woody wrote: I had one in a unmarked car that i pulled out infront of at a roundabout due to him not indicating and driving quite fast imo. He was tried his best to find fault with my car after i pointed out he didnt indicate.
Granted - mistakes happen (although Road Craft does say that indicating isnt a necessity in certain circumstances - personally I indicate 99% of the time). Again, I can only speak from experience - if that was me, why would I pull you over? Did you give him a hand signal of some kind? I'm not trying to cast aspertions here, just trying to see both sides of the coin.

It was his attitude when you could clearly see it was a error on my behalf which was contributed to his lack of driving skills. Anyway...
Can you nick me some blues and twos?
